Love is in the air in Seafront Sands.
The mysterious appearance of a young woman (Allira Jaques) washed up starkers on Mim Beach turns the sleepy town into a tailspin. Is she a mermaid, why does she have amnesia, what is going on with her craving for coffee?
Meanwhile, it’s the celebration day of Seafront Sands’ Bicentennial, with developers circling, and many of the seemingly happy townsfolk lost in love, and in desperate need of a shot of cupid’s arrow.
Now named Mim, after the beach where she was found, the young woman has a profound effect on everyone she comes into contact with: a hard as nails local councilwoman, her retired Naval Captain brother (John Jarratt), a grieving widow running the local cafe, a sensitive policeman afraid to pop the question and his assistant who thinks that he’s Tom Selleck; and Harrison (Mitchell Hope), a handsome young man who runs a dating agency with Emily (Steph Tisdell), his sassy assistant.
When Mim makes a particularly strong connection with Harrison, it looks like a match made in heaven, but during the course of one eventful day, big secrets are revealed that will make this a mythical event that will change everyone’s life forever.
Be charmed by this feel good, nostalgic movie which is sure to delight audiences in the tradition of Australian hits like Strictly Ballroom and Muriel’s Wedding.
